Cheese time 2

Today's cheese selection is a 24 month aged Comté! It is really nice! Perfectly sharp but buttery also and almost with those little crunchy crystals you get in a good parmesan. It's mellow and tangy at the same time. I think it's very versatile but still interesting to eat. If you are at the market wondering what cheese to bring to a party and you see an aged Comté like this, feel free to get it because it will work well with anything your host is serving. I'll tell you what I wanted to eat it with but cannot--these delicious little crackers I bought at the no-packaging grocery store but then because they didn't have any packaging they spilt all over the floor of the bus on the way home. I was stricken with sorrow. The young man next to me was stricken with crackers. Désolée!

We met another American in the cheese line. I was taking the above photo and he told me "don't put that on instagram." Ha! His name is Macy and he's from Connecticut and he has lived here since 1990. He told us he burned his bridges to the U.S. 20 years ago and I really hope we see him again because I definitely want to hear that full story.
